  • Description

Standard: ASTM C185, AASHTO T152, BS 1881, EN 12350-7

Product Description

The Digimatic Air Entrainment meter serves as a critical role in construction by precisely measuring the air content within concrete. This ensures the integrity and longevity of concrete strcutures, particularly in scenarios where air entrainment is vital for improving workability, resistance of freezing and thawing, and overall durability. This product used to determine the air content in cement mortar, cement paste and lime mortar. Connected to a digital gauge directly collect air entrainment in percentage, with range of 0 - 20%. It is cast aluminium built, the test pot and upper part are air-tight sealed.

Features of Digimatic Air Entrainment for Mortar

  • The clear digital display streamlines the process, facilitating quick and convenient readings that enhance productivity on construction sites.
  • Calibration Options to maintain accuracy over time, ensuring consistent and reliable performance.
  • Accurate measurement of air content in concrete, ensuring reliability in construction projects.
  • Versatile and compatibility with various types of concrete mixes and testing procedures, making it suitable for a wide range of construction applications.

Standard: ASTM C185, AASHTO T152, BS 1881, EN 12350-7

  • ASTM C185

This standard, issued by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), offers techniques for assessing the air content of hydraulic cement concrete using the pressure method. It details steps for gauging the volume of air within concrete mixtures, and its widespread adoption in both the United States and across the globe underscores its importance in ensuring concrete quality.

  • AASHTO T152

The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) publishes this standard, stating the methods ascertaining the air content of freshly mixed concrete by the pressure method. Its commonly utilised in transportation and infrastructure projects in the United States.

  • BS 1881

This British standard serves as a comprehensive manual for concrete testing, offering clear protocols for assessing air content and other important parametes. Its authority extends beyond the UK, being valued in countires that comply to British construction norms for its reliability and precision.

  • EN 12350-7

This standard, which is part of the European Standard, describes hot to measure the air content in freshly mixed concrete using pressure method. Its widely used in European countries and follows the constructions material and testing standards set by the European Union.

Test Procedure

  1. Concrete Sample Preparation: Take a freshly mixed concrete sample from the batch to be tested.

  2. Meter Calibration: Calibrate the meter according to manufacturer instructions to guarantee accurate measurements.

  3. Fill the Meter: Concrete sample to be placed into the air entrainment meter's chamber, ensuring it's filled to the appropriate level.

  4. Pressure Implication: Utilise the pressure system to subject the concrete sample to a specified pressure, typically around 20 psi (pounds per square inch).

  5. Measure Air Content: Evaluate the air content directly on the meter's digital screen. This reading reveals the volume of air voids within the concrete sample.

  6. Record the Results: The measured air content should be measured for quality control and documentation purposes.

  7. Repeat if Necessasay: Conduct additional test on different concrete samples to ensure consistency and reliability of results.

  8. Clean Meter: After usage, thoroughly clean the meter and proceed with any maintenance procedures recommended by manufacturer.
