150mm Cast Iron Cube Mould

Cast Iron Cube Mould 150mm is used to create standardized cube-shaped samples of concrete with 150mm x 150mm size for testing purposes. These moulds are made of durable cast iron material and come in a 150mm Cast Iron Cube Mould to accommodate different testing requirements.

The cast iron mould 150mm for construction work serves the purpose of preparing concrete cube samples in a controlled and uniform manner. These cubes undergo tests like compressive strength testing to evaluate the quality and performance of the concrete mix. Standardized cube samples ensure consistency in testing procedures, providing engineers and technicians with reliable data on concrete strength and durability.

Feature of Cast Iron Cube Mould 150mm

  • Made from tough cast iron for durability.
  • Available in different sizes to suit different needs.
  • Makes it simple to prepare uniform concrete samples.
  • Easy to use for engineers and construction workers.
  • Helps maintain consistent testing standards.

Standard Description

  • EN 12390-1: European standard outlining procedures for testing the compressive strength of concrete specimens.
  • ASTM C39/C192: American standards provide guidelines for testing the compressive strength and density of concrete.
  • AASHTO T23/T126: Standards from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) detailing procedures for testing the density and compressive strength of concrete.
  • BS 1881:108: British standard specifying methods for testing the compressive strength of concrete samples in laboratory settings.

Test Procedure for Cast Iron Cube Mould 150mm

  1. Preparation: Ensure the cast iron cube mould is clean and free from any debris or residues. Check for any damage or irregularities in the mould.
  2. Mould Lubrication: Apply a thin layer of mould release agent or lubricant to the interior surfaces of the mould to prevent the concrete from sticking.
  3. Concrete Mix Preparation: Prepare the concrete mix according to the desired specifications, ensuring the correct proportions of cement, aggregates, and water are used.
  4. Filling the Mould: Place the clean and lubricated cube mould on a flat surface. Fill the mould with freshly mixed concrete, ensuring it is evenly distributed and compacted.
  5. Surface Smoothing: Use a trowel or float to level the surface of the concrete and remove any excess material.
  6. Curing: Cover the filled mould with a damp cloth or plastic sheeting to prevent moisture loss and promote proper curing of the concrete. Allow the concrete to cure for the specified time period.
  7. Demoulding: After the curing period has elapsed, carefully remove the cube mould from the concrete specimen. Use caution to avoid damaging the edges or corners of the cube.
  8. Storage: Transfer the demoulded cube specimen to a curing room or designated storage area. Ensure it is protected from environmental factors such as temperature fluctuations and excessive moisture.
  9. Testing: After the specified curing period, the cube specimen is ready for testing. Conduct compressive strength tests according to relevant standards such as ASTM C39 or EN 12390-3.
  10. Documentation: Record all relevant information, including the date of casting, mix proportions, curing conditions, and test results. Compile the data into a comprehensive report for further analysis and documentation.
