Concrete Plastic Cube Mould
100mm Plastic Cube Mould, 150mm Plastic Cube Mould, 150mm Plastic Cube Mould L-Shape, 150mm High Density Plastic Cube Mould, 150mm Heavy Duty Plastic Cube Mould.
Concrete Plastic Cube Mould is used to create standardized concrete cube samples for testing purposes. These moulds are made from a combination of plastic materials, for easy use and carried on-site or in the testing lab. The purpose of a Concrete Plastic Cube Mould is to accurately shape and contain freshly mixed concrete samples in the form of cubes. These cubes are then allowed to cure and harden under controlled conditions, usually in a laboratory setting or on-site, to determine the compressive strength of the concrete.
We provide a wide range of high-quality concrete specimen moulds such as cubes & beams of different kinds of sizes. Mould materials such as HEAVY DUTY ABS PLASTIC, HIGH-DENSITY PLASTIC, CAST IRON & MILD STEEL are available.
Feature of Concrete Plastic Cube Mould
- With a one-piece design and no need for assembly
- Resistant to vibrations, shocks, and wear, they maintain accuracy and shape integrity through multiple tests.
- Suitable for lab or on-site use, making concrete testing convenient and efficient.
Standards
- EN 12390-1: European standard for testing concrete strength, covering procedures for casting, curing, and testing concrete specimens.
- ASTM C39/C192: American standards detailing testing procedures for compressive strength of concrete cube (C39) and guidelines for specimen preparation and testing in laboratories (C192).
- AASHTO T23/T126: Standards from the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, specifying procedures for preparing and testing concrete specimens for compressive strength.
- BS 1881:108: British standard outlining methods for making, curing, and testing concrete compressive strength, ensuring consistent testing practices.
Test Procedure of Concrete Plastic Cube Mould
1. Preparation of Mould: Ensure the mould is clean and free from any debris or previous residues and check for any damages. Apply a thin layer of mold release agent to facilitate easy removal of cubes.
2. Mix Design Preparation: Prepare concrete mix as per the desired specifications and proportions.
3. Cube Casting: Fill the mould with freshly mixed concrete in layers, compacting each layer thoroughly to remove air voids.
4. Curing: Cover the filled mould with a damp cloth or plastic sheet to prevent moisture loss. Allow the concrete to cure undisturbed for the specified duration, typically 24 hours in a controlled environment with regulated temperature and humidity.
5. Demolding: After the curing period, carefully remove the mould from the concrete cube. Use a rubber mallet or similar tool to tap around the sides of the mould to loosen it from the concrete.
6. Initial Measurements: Measure the dimensions (length, width, and height) of the concrete cube using a calibrated measuring device such as a caliper or ruler. Record the measurements accurately.
7. Testing: Perform compression testing on the cube using a compression testing machine. Record the maximum load applied and the corresponding deformation or strain.
8. Analysis: Calculate the compressive strength of the concrete cube using the maximum load and the cross-sectional area. Compare the obtained strength with the specified requirements or standards.
9. Reporting: Document the test results, including dimensions, compressive strength, and any relevant observations. Report any deviations from expected performance and provide recommendations for improvement if necessary.
10. Cleanup: Clean the mould thoroughly after use to remove any residual concrete or contaminants. Store the mould in a dry and safe location to prevent damage or deterioration.
