Laboratory Thermometer
Laboratory Thermometer is a device used to measure temperature for laboratory use. When temperature changes, the liquid expands or contracts within the tube showing results from the scale marked, while Digital thermometers use electronic sensors to measure temperature and display the results digitally. Thermometers are widely used in various fields such as meteorology, medicine, cooking, and manufacturing, to monitor and control temperature. Providing width range of temperature measuring thermometer for specific laboratory use.
Types of Laboratory Thermometers
There are different types of Laboratory Thermometers including, Glass Type, Probe Type, Dial Type, and Non-contact Type.
- Glass Type Thermometer: Thermometers with a long, narrow glass tube filled with a liquid like mercury or alcohol. As the temperature changes, the liquid expands or contracts, causing it to rise or fall within the tube. The temperature is read from a scale marked on the tube. Glass thermometers are commonly used in laboratories for their accuracy and reliability.
- Probe Type Thermometer: These thermometers consist of a metal probe attached to a display unit. The probe is inserted into the substance or environment whose temperature needs to be measured. The display unit shows the temperature read by the probe. Probe thermometers are often used for measuring the temperature of liquids, solids, and gases in laboratory settings.
- Dial Type Thermometer: These thermometers have a circular dial with a pointer indicating the temperature, having a metal probe that is inserted into the substance or environment being measured. Dial thermometers are easy to read and are commonly used for measuring temperatures in industrial and laboratory settings.
- Non-Contact Type Thermometer: Known as Infrared Thermometers measure temperature without coming into direct contact with the object or substance being measured, detecting the infrared radiation emitted by the object and converting it into a temperature reading. Non-contact thermometers are useful for measuring the temperature of objects that are difficult to reach or where contact may not be desirable, such as extremely hot surfaces or moving objects. They are widely used in laboratories, industrial settings, and medical environments.
