Surface Irregularity
This apparatus is designed to measure road surface irregularities (such as bumps, depressions or unevenness) on both concrete and asphalt pavements. It consists of a rigid beam supported by two fixed wheels at the ends and a central measuring wheel that detects vertical deviations from a straight reference line between the endpoints. As the device moves along the pavement, the central wheel indicates any vertical displacement, providing data on surface smoothness.
