Moisture Analyzer / Moisture Balance

Moisture Analyzer / Moisture Balance is used to measure the amount of moisture content in soil, sand, aggregates, and other substances by evaporating the moisture and determining the percentage of moisture content, percentage of dry and wet weight, without using calcium carbide or long drying process.

It comes with a halogen lamp that provides fast heating and instant results to evaporate moisture. The balance continuously measures the weight of the sample during heating, and once the weight stabilizes, it indicates that the moisture has been completely removed. The difference in weight before and after heating is used to calculate the moisture content of the sample. Results display in percentage of moisture content, percentage of dry weight & wet weight. Simple to use with a bright display and results accuracy is ensured through a simple calibration function. Moisture analyzers are commonly used in various industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and environmental monitoring to ensure product quality, compliance with regulations, and research purposes. They provide quick and accurate results compared to traditional methods like oven drying.

Test Procedure of Moisture Analyzer / Moisture Balance

  • Preparation: Ensure that the balance is clean and free from any debris or residues from previous tests. Calibrate the balance according to the manufacturer's instructions, if necessary.
  • Sample Preparation: Prepare the sample by accurately weighing the material to be tested. The sample size should be within the recommended range specified by the manufacturer.
  • Setting Parameters: Set the desired parameters on the moisture analyzer balance, including the target moisture content, temperature, and any other relevant settings. Refer to the user manual for guidance on setting these parameters.
  • Sample Placement: Place the prepared sample evenly onto the sample pan of the balance. Ensure that the sample is spread out evenly to facilitate uniform heating and accurate measurement.
  • Closing the Chamber: Close the chamber of the moisture analyzer to prevent any external interference and to create a controlled environment for heating the sample.
  • Starting the Test: Start the test procedure according to the instructions provided by the manufacturer. This usually involves initiating the heating process, during which the moisture in the sample will evaporate.
  • Monitoring: Monitor the progress of the test on the display screen of the moisture analyzer. The balance will continuously measure the weight of the sample as it heats up and the moisture evaporates. The weight loss will be displayed in real time.
  • Completion: Once the weight stabilizes or reaches a predetermined endpoint, indicating that the moisture has been completely removed, the test is complete. The balance will display the final results, including the moisture content of the sample.
  • Recording Results: Record the results displayed on the moisture analyzer, including the moisture content, dry weight, wet weight, and any other relevant data. This information may be required for documentation or further analysis.
