Standard: EN 12390-2, BS EN 206:2013
Concrete Pan Type Mixer (Forced Speed)
Concrete Pan Type Mixer is used for blending concrete, mortar, and other materials. It features a large, shallow pan with blades or paddles inside. These mixers rotate the pan horizontally at a constant speed, ensuring the mixing is thoroughly processed which contains cement, water, and additives. Widely used in construction projects like building foundations, roads, and bridges. They're praised for their reliability, efficiency, and ability to handle large volumes of mixtures. This forced speed mixing reduces mixing time while maintaining high-quality results. The pan & the mixing gears have a big thickness ratio, the gears are from hardened & rectified steel, and the motor reducer is in an oil bath with Gleason conical coupling. Controls through magneto-thermic switch & release automatic coil contained in IP67 box.
Features of Concrete Pan Type Mixer
- Large Shallow Pan that comes with a flat bottom and curved sides, offering ample space for mixing materials/
- Blades or Paddles located within the pan, these blades or paddles forcefully churn the materials, promoting thorough integration as the pan turns.
- Force speed mixing which creates a homogeneous mixing that ensures materials are mixed efficiently.
- Horizontal Axis Rotation with constant speed influences the consistent mixing of aggregates, cement, water, and additives.
Standard: EN 12390-2
The standard acknowledges the European standard that specifies the method for making and curing compressive test specimens of hardened concrete. This standard highlights the procedures for preparing, curing, and testing concrete specimens to determine the compressive strength, which is an important parameter for assessing the quality and durability of concrete in construction projects. Complying with EN 12390-2 guarantees reliability and consistency in concrete testing procedures across European countries, thereby emphasizing quality control and standardization in the construction industry.
Test Procedure of Concrete Pan Type Mixer
- Prepare Materials: Gather the aggregates, cement, water, and additives according to specified proportions.
- Calibrate Mixer: The mixer must be calibrated, evaluate the rotation speed and blade condition.
- Materials Loading: Place materials into the mixer based on the mix design.
- Mixing Process: Begin the mixer at the specified speed and duration, ensuring thorough blending.
- Mixing Observation: Make sure to monitor mixture consistency and uniformity, checking for clumps or segregation.
- Sample: Extract representative samples post-mixing for testing.
- Test samples: Conduct the required test (e.g., slump, compressive strength) on the samples.
- Clean Mixer: The mixer should be cleaned thoroughly to prevent contamination between batches.
- Documentation Mixer: Mixing time, and mixing characteristics should be recorded.
- Analyse Results: Evaluate results to verify compliance with specified standards and quality requirements.
